Buying Guides
A shift shaft brace is one of the most important upgrades we recommend for any CRF110F or KLX110/L.
The factory gear shift selector shaft sticks out of the engine a long way before reaching the gear shifter. This leaves the shaft with very little support and makes it extremely easy to bend if the gear shifter takes a knock.
It doesn't take a big impact to cause a problem. Once the shaft is bent, you can start having issues changing gears. In more serious cases, an impact can cause further damage to the engine cases or internal components.
For this reason, if you've purchased a brand-new CRF110F or KLX110/L, we actually recommend installing a shift shaft brace before you even ride the bike.
The brace adds support to the end of the shift shaft and helps reduce the leverage being placed on it when the gear shifter takes an impact.
It's also important to install one before the shaft gets bent. Once a shift shaft has been bent past a certain point, a shift shaft brace may no longer be able to be fitted correctly.
Replacing a bent or broken shift shaft is a much bigger and more labour-intensive job than installing a brace in the first place. We look at a shift shaft brace as cheap insurance against a problem that can become expensive very quickly.
Absolutely. If you have a set budget - whether it's $500, $2,000, $5,000 or anything in between - we can help you put together a list of upgrades that makes the best use of what you're looking to spend.
We generally recommend starting with upgrades that will give you the biggest physical improvement to the bike before spending heavily on parts that are mainly for looks or sound.
A good example is an aftermarket exhaust. Exhausts are a great upgrade, but on an otherwise stock 110 they generally aren't going to transform the way the bike feels to ride. For around the cost of some exhaust systems, you could potentially put that money towards a Tall Bar Kit, suspension upgrades and a set of footpegs - upgrades that can completely change how comfortable and capable the bike feels for an adult rider.
Once the important upgrades are taken care of, you can then start adding the performance, visual and finishing touches to build the bike exactly how you want it.
We can also help if you have a particular build or style in mind. If you have a CRF250R, for example, and want to build a mini version of it, we can help select parts and put together a 110 build around that style.
Tell us what bike you have, your approximate budget and what you want from the build, and we'll help guide you towards the areas where your money will make the biggest difference.
Choosing the correct rear shock spring rate depends on both your rider weight and riding style. Below is our recommended starting point for the OZMINIS Complete Suspension Kits.
CRF110F (2013-Present)
250LBS - 60-80kg
300LBS - 80-95kg
350LBS - 100kg+
KLX110 (Non-Clutch Models)
250LBS - 60-80kg
300LBS - 80-95kg
350LBS - 100kg+
KLX110L (Manual Clutch Model)
250LBS - 60-80kg
300LBS - 80-95kg
350LBS - 100kg+
TTR110 (All Years)
250LBS - Up to 70kg
300LBS - 70-90kg
350LBS - 90kg+
The TTR110 uses slightly different weight recommendations due to the angle of the rear shock. The sharper mounting angle places more leverage on the shock, which makes the rear suspension naturally feel softer. Because of this, a slightly heavier rear spring may be required compared with a CRF110F or KLX110, particularly for harder riding.
If you're between two spring rates, your riding style should also be taken into consideration. If you mainly cruise, trail ride or ride more casually, we recommend leaning towards the lower spring rate for a more comfortable setup. If you ride aggressively, hit jumps or generally push the bike harder, stepping up to the next spring rate will provide additional support.
The 350LBS setup is quite stiff and isn't generally recommended unless you're within the heavier weight range and intend on riding the bike hard. For casual riding, cruising or wheelies, it can feel unnecessarily harsh.
If you're still unsure which setup to choose, contact us with your bike model, rider weight and the type of riding you do and we can help point you towards the most suitable option.
Yes. When fitting taller aftermarket handlebars such as OZMINIS Mini-X Bars, ProTaper XR50 Bend Bars, ODI Bars, etc., we strongly recommend fitting extended cables at the same time.
This applies to most aftermarket tall bar setups, not just the examples listed above.
The factory cables are designed around the height of the standard handlebars and can become extremely tight once taller bars are fitted. This can cause the cables to pull when the handlebars are turned to full lock and, in some cases, can cause the throttle to remain open. For this reason, we don't recommend running tall bars with the factory-length cables.
We've put together model-specific Tall Bar Kits for each 110 model, which include everything required to correctly install taller handlebars.
The extended cables included in these kits also allow additional length for future upgrades. This means if you later install upgraded suspension, bar risers, an aftermarket triple clamp or other components that further increase bar height, the cable setup is already designed to accommodate these changes.
Purchasing the complete Tall Bar Kit also works out cheaper than purchasing each of the required components individually.
The OZMINIS Mini-X Handlebar is currently our most popular handlebar for 110s in Australia. The ProTaper XR50 Bend has always been the textbook minibike handlebar and was what we used and recommended for years before developing the Mini-X.
Both are brilliant handlebars and are quite similar in overall dimensions. The Mini-X was developed around what we liked about the XR50 Bend, with a few changes we felt made it better suited to the way people are setting up and riding 110s today.
Compared with the ProTaper XR50 Bend, the OZMINIS Mini-X is approximately 1 inch (25mm) wider overall, has 4 degrees less backsweep, and is manufactured from 7075 aluminium alloy, the same grade of aluminium commonly used in other leading aftermarket handlebars.
Both bars are the same height, which we find is a great starting height for the vast majority of riders. Rather than starting with an excessively tall handlebar, you can then customise the height to suit your preference by adding 30mm bar risers, an aftermarket top triple clamp, or a combination of other upgrades if you want additional height.
We ran the ProTaper XR50 Bend for years and always felt it was an excellent minibike bar, but there were a few small changes we wanted to make. This eventually led us to develop the Mini-X - making it slightly wider, 4 degrees straighter through the backsweep, along with a few other small changes to create what we believe is the ideal all-round minibike handlebar.
Whichever option you choose, both the OZMINIS Mini-X and ProTaper XR50 Bend are excellent choices for a 110. The main advantage of starting with this style and height of bar is that you have a comfortable base setup that can easily be adjusted as you continue to modify the bike.
For the 2019+ fuel-injected CRF110F, we've put together four complete Power Packages, starting at Stage 1 and working all the way through to Stage 4.
The biggest restriction on the standard fuel-injected CRF110F is the fuel and air intake system. The factory airbox intake tube, intake manifold and throttle body are all quite restrictive and become the main choke points when trying to make more power.
Our Power Packages have been developed around removing these restrictions and then progressing into further engine modifications as you move through the stages.
Stage 1 is by far our most popular power upgrade and is also our personal favourite setup for a stock-engine CRF110F. Everything is external to the engine, so there's no need to open the motor or modify the internals. The idea is simple - remove the factory restrictions, increase the fuel and airflow, and get considerably more performance from the stock engine.
The bike still retains the same overall characteristics of the stock engine, but with a noticeable increase in power throughout the entire rev range.
From there, you can continue through the Power Packages as you want more performance, with our Stage 4 setup capable of producing up to approximately 14HP.
Our Stage 1 Power Package is designed to get the most out of the CRF110F without opening the engine or modifying any of the internal components.
The factory fuel-injected CRF110F is heavily restricted through its intake system. Stage 1 addresses the main restriction points, including the airbox intake, intake manifold and throttle body, along with an ECU tune to correctly suit the increased airflow.
Think of it as de-restricting the stock motor - more air, more fuel and more power.
We also increase the factory RPM limit from approximately 9,800RPM to 10,200RPM, which remains a conservative limit for the standard engine internals.
This is by far our most popular CRF110F power package because it doesn't completely change the characteristics of the bike. It still feels like your CRF110F, it just has a considerably stronger kick of power throughout the rev range.
And yes... you'll have a pretty good advantage over your mates still riding stock bikes.
Yes. We've specifically designed our CRF110F Power Packages so you can start at Stage 1 and progressively work your way through to Stage 4 as you want more power.
Where possible, the packages build on the components you've already installed. This means you aren't starting again and purchasing an entirely new setup every time you move up a stage.
One important thing to remember is that your ECU will need to be retuned each time you move to a different Power Package. Each stage has different requirements, so the ECU tune needs to match the exact engine and intake setup you're running.
Once we've tuned your ECU for the first time, we keep your ECU licence on file, which also makes future tuning considerably cheaper.
If you've just bought a CRF110F, TTR110, KLX110 or KLX110L and you're wondering where to start, have a look through our Essential Upgrades section.
The easiest way we explain it is that these bikes are originally designed around younger, smaller riders, but 99% of our customers are full-size adults riding them. A good example is taking a bike designed around an 8-year-old and putting a full-size adult on it - the handlebars are low, the footpegs and controls are small, the suspension is soft and the bike simply isn't set up around the size and weight of an adult rider.
That's where the common upgrades come in.
- Suspension - upgrading the forks and rear shock to better support the rider's weight.
- Tall bar kits - raising the handlebars to give a taller rider more room and a more comfortable riding position.
- Larger footpegs - giving you a much larger and more comfortable platform compared with the small factory pegs.
- Extended gear shifter - giving larger boots more room and making the shifter easier to reach.
- Shift shaft brace - adding additional support to the shift shaft, particularly with adult riders putting more load through the controls.
- Bash plate / bike protection - adding protection underneath the bike for harder riding and general use.
- Light bar kits - another extremely common upgrade for riders wanting to use the bike at night.
You definitely don't need to do everything at once. If you're starting with a completely stock bike, we'd generally look at the upgrades that make the bike fit you properly first - suspension, bars, pegs and controls - then go from there.
Our Essential Upgrades section brings together the parts that we see the majority of riders fitting to these bikes and is the best place to start if you're not sure what you need.
On a stock CRF110F, TTR110, KLX110 or KLX110L, the handlebars are low and the footpegs and controls are small - they're designed around younger, smaller riders. Setting up the bars and controls to suit an adult rider is one of the first upgrades we recommend.
Handlebars
The OZMINIS Mini-X Handlebar is currently our most popular handlebar for 110s in Australia, and the ProTaper XR50 Bend is the textbook minibike bar we used and recommended for years. Both are the same height, which is a great starting point for most riders. From there you can add height with 30mm bar risers, an aftermarket top triple clamp, or a combination of upgrades.
Extended cables
If you're fitting taller bars, fit extended cables at the same time. Factory cables can become extremely tight with taller bars, pull at full lock and, in some cases, cause the throttle to stay open. Our model-specific Tall Bar Kits include everything needed and work out cheaper than buying each part separately. The extra cable length also allows for future upgrades like suspension, risers or a triple clamp.
Footpegs & gear shifter
Larger footpegs give you a much bigger, more comfortable platform than the small factory pegs, and an extended gear shifter gives larger boots more room and makes the shifter easier to reach.
Shift shaft brace
We recommend a shift shaft brace for any CRF110F or KLX110/L - ideally before you even ride the bike. It supports the shift shaft and helps prevent it bending if the gear shifter takes a knock.
Not sure what you need? Contact us with your bike model and we'll help point you in the right direction.
Before you buy, check the fitment information on the product page to make sure the part suits your bike. We are very thorough with our product fitment, so if your bike model and year are listed, you can be confident the product is suitable for your bike.
'Present' and 'Fits All Models'
If a product is listed as fitting a certain year through to 'Present', this includes the latest model currently available - even if a newly released bike is listed as the following year's model. For example, a CRF110F product listed as 2013-Present also fits the newly released 2027 CRF110F. 'Fits All Models' means it fits all previous model years as well as the latest model, unless we specifically state otherwise.
KLX110/L
When we list a product as fitting KLX110/L, it fits both the KLX110 and KLX110L. If a product only fits one of these models, we'll make this clear in the product title and/or fitment information.
Damping rods
The damping rods used for the CRF110F, TTR110, KLX110 and KLX110L are the same part. We stock them under the CRF110F part number, so your TTR110 or KLX110 suspension kit may include a damping rod labelled as CRF110F - it's the correct part for your bike.
If you're still unsure whether a part will fit, contact us with your bike model and year.
Many of the main upgrades we sell have installation tutorials on our Ozminis YouTube channel, including:
- Tall Bar Kit installation
- Complete Suspension Kit installation
- Footpeg installation
- Shift Shaft Brace installation
- Plus other common upgrades
Most videos are demonstrated on a CRF110F, but the installation process for many of these parts is very similar across the TTR110, KLX110 and KLX110L, so the CRF110F tutorials are still a helpful reference.
We recommend watching the relevant video before you start so you can familiarise yourself with the process and the tools required.
Before you install
- If you're fitting taller bars, fit extended cables at the same time.
- If you have a brand-new CRF110F or KLX110/L, install a shift shaft brace before you ride - once the shaft is bent past a certain point, a brace may no longer fit correctly.
Need help? Contact us with your bike model and what you're installing.
For the 2019+ fuel-injected CRF110F, we offer four complete Power Packages, from Stage 1 through to Stage 4. The biggest restriction on the standard bike is the fuel and air intake system - the factory airbox intake tube, intake manifold and throttle body.
Stage 1
Our most popular power upgrade. Everything is external to the engine - no need to open the motor. Stage 1 addresses the airbox intake, intake manifold and throttle body, with an ECU tune to suit, and raises the RPM limit from approximately 9,800RPM to 10,200RPM. The bike keeps its stock characteristics, with a noticeable increase in power throughout the rev range.
Stages 2-4
The packages are designed so you can start at Stage 1 and work your way up. Where possible, each stage builds on the parts you've already installed. Our Stage 4 setup is capable of producing up to approximately 14HP.
ECU tuning
The ECU tune and licence are included in the price of your Power Package. Your ECU needs to be retuned each time you move to a different stage. Once your ECU is licensed with us, future retunes are 50% cheaper - normally $200 instead of $400.
How it works
- Order your Power Package - we'll hold the parts at our warehouse.
- Remove the ECU from under the seat and post it to us securely packaged, with your order number included.
- We tune the ECU and ship it back with the rest of your package in one shipment.

FAQs
This is correct - you haven't received the wrong damping rod.
The damping rods used for the CRF110F, TTR110, KLX110 and KLX110L are all the same part and are interchangeable between these models.
For inventory purposes, we stock and bundle these under the CRF110F damping rod part number. This means if you've purchased a TTR110, KLX110 or KLX110L suspension kit, the damping rod included in your order may be labelled or packaged as a CRF110F damping rod.
It is the correct damping rod for your bike and can be installed as normal.
If a product is listed as fitting a certain year through to 'Present', this includes the latest model currently available - even if a newly released bike is technically listed as the following year's model.
For example, if a CRF110F product is listed as 2013-Present, it also fits the newly released 2027 CRF110F.
If a product is listed as 'Fits All Models', this means exactly that - it fits all previous model years as well as the latest model currently available, including a newly released model that may be listed as the following year's model.
We keep our product fitment information up to date as new models are released. If a product is listed as 'Present' or 'Fits All Models', you can consider the latest released model included unless we specifically state otherwise.
We are very thorough with our product fitment information, so if your bike model and year are listed, you can be confident the product is suitable for your bike.
Yes. When we list a product as fitting KLX110/L, this means it fits both the KLX110 and KLX110L.
We use 'KLX110/L' as a shortened way of showing that the product is compatible with both models.
If a product only fits the KLX110 or only fits the KLX110L, we will make this clear in the product title and/or fitment information.
We are very thorough with our product fitment, so if your model is listed, the product is designed to fit that bike unless otherwise stated.
Yes. We have a range of installation tutorials available on our Ozminis YouTube channel, covering the installation of many of the main upgrades we sell.
- Tall Bar Kit installation
- Complete Suspension Kit installation
- Footpeg installation
- Shift Shaft Brace installation
- Plus other common upgrades
Most of our installation videos are demonstrated on a CRF110F, however, the installation process for many of these parts is very similar across the TTR110, KLX110 and KLX110L.
If you're working on one of these models, the CRF110F tutorials can still be used as a helpful reference for the installation process.
We recommend watching the relevant installation video before starting the job so you can familiarise yourself with the process and the tools required.
Yes. The ECU tune and ECU licence are included in the price of your Power Package - there is no additional tuning or licence charge on top of the package price.
The first time we tune your CRF110F ECU, we need to purchase an individual ECU tuning licence for that ECU. We know the licensing side can sound a little confusing, but you don't need to organise or purchase anything separately - we take care of the entire process for you.
The normal price for an initial ECU tune is $400, which includes the ECU licence. This cost is already built into the price of your Power Package.
Once your ECU has been licensed and tuned, we keep the licence on file. If you later move to another Power Package and need the same ECU retuned for your new setup, we don't need to purchase the licence again.
Because of this, any future retunes for the same ECU are 50% cheaper - normally $200 instead of $400.
If you're purchasing another Power Package in the future, the reduced tuning cost can be taken into account as you already have an ECU licence on file with us.
Once you've ordered a Power Package, we'll hold the components from your order at our warehouse while we wait for your ECU to arrive for tuning.
You'll need to remove the ECU from your bike - it's located underneath the seat - and send it to us.
Once we receive your ECU, we'll complete the required tune to suit the Power Package you've purchased.
When the ECU is tuned and ready to go, we'll package it together with the rest of your Power Package and ship everything back to you in one shipment.
This way, your tuned ECU and all of the components required for your setup arrive together and are ready for installation.
Your CRF110F ECU is located underneath the seat and can be unplugged from the bike before being sent to us.
Please package the ECU securely in a padded mail bag or suitable protective packaging to prevent it from being damaged during transport.
Make sure you include your order number with the ECU. This is important as it allows our team to identify the ECU and match it to your Power Package or tuning order as soon as it arrives.
Send your ECU to:
Ozminis ECU Tuning
36-40 Junction Road
Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
Once your ECU has been tuned, we'll package it with the components from your Power Package and ship everything back to you together.
